Resume Template for 0–2 Years Experience (Entry Level)
With up to two years of work, your first job is now your strongest asset — but it's thin on its own. This template leads with a short summary and that role's measurable wins, then backs it up with internships, projects and certifications.
Best for: Professionals in their first or second job, including those with a year of internships, trainee programmes or apprenticeships.
Best resume format: Reverse-chronological
Your current role sits at the top with 3–5 results-focused bullets; education moves below experience now that you have a job, but stays prominent.

How to write a 0–2 years experience resume
- Swap your objective for a 3-line summary: title, ~1–2 years, top skills, and one result.
- Quantify the first job even if the role was junior: tickets resolved, reports automated, campaigns supported, accuracy rates.
- Keep your best internship — it shows a pattern of growth — but trim it to 1–2 bullets.
- Move education below experience, but keep CGPA if it's strong and the employer is campus-oriented.
- Add a project section only for work that shows a skill your job doesn't.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Keeping the fresher objective and school marks from your first resume.
- Bullets that describe duties ("responsible for reports") instead of outcomes.
- Listing every college project — keep the one or two that match the target role.
- Leaving a short first job off out of embarrassment — any genuine role counts.

0–2 Years Experience resume FAQ
What should I put on a resume with 1 year of experience?
+
A three-line summary, your job with 3–5 quantified bullets, your most relevant internship, one or two strong projects, education, skills and certifications. Keep it to one page.
Should education come before experience with 2 years of experience?
+
No — once you have a full-time job, experience goes first. Education moves below it but stays on the first page.
How do I show impact in a junior role?
+
Measure what you touched: volume handled, time saved, error rates reduced, customers served, features shipped. Junior roles have plenty of numbers — they just need to be written down.
Can I still include internships after two years?
+
Yes, if they are relevant to the role you want. Keep them short (one or two bullets) and below your full-time experience.
Do I need a summary on an entry-level resume?
+
Yes. A short summary tells the recruiter your role, experience and strongest skills in the first five seconds — and gives the ATS your key terms early.
