Fresher Resume Template
As a fresher, recruiters can't judge you on job history — they judge you on proof of ability. This template puts your education, projects, internships and skills first, in a single-column format that applicant tracking systems read cleanly.
Best for: Final-year students and recent graduates (B.Tech, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA, MBA) applying for their first full-time job.
Best resume format: Skills-forward reverse-chronological
Leads with a short objective and education, then projects and internships — the evidence a fresher actually has — while keeping standard headings ATS can map.

How to write a fresher resume
- Write a targeted objective: the role you want, your degree, and two skills that match the job — not "seeking a challenging position".
- Treat academic and personal projects like jobs: what you built, the tools you used, and a result (users, accuracy, time saved, marks).
- Put CGPA or percentage next to your degree if it is 7.0+ / 70%+; otherwise leave it out and let projects carry you.
- Mirror the job description's exact skill names ("Microsoft Excel", "SQL", "Python") — ATS keyword filters match exact terms.
- Add internships, freelance work, college society roles and hackathons as experience — they all show initiative.
- Keep hobbies only if they say something relevant (e.g. "runs a 4,000-subscriber tech YouTube channel").
Common mistakes to avoid
- Listing school (10th/12th) details above your degree — put your highest qualification first.
- A skills list with 25 items and no proof — keep 8–12 and show them in projects.
- Personal details like father's name, religion, date of birth or a photo — they don't help and some ATS strip them.
- Fancy two-column designs with icons and skill bars — they often parse badly in ATS.

Fresher resume FAQ
What is the best resume format for freshers?
+
A single-column, reverse-chronological format with an objective, education, projects, internships and skills. It is the format recruiters expect and the one applicant tracking systems parse most reliably.
Should a fresher resume have an objective or a summary?
+
An objective. Two or three lines naming the role you want, your degree and two matching skills. A "summary" works better once you have real work experience to summarise.
How do I write a fresher resume with no experience?
+
Replace work experience with evidence: academic projects, internships, training, freelance work, hackathons and leadership in college societies. Describe each with what you did, the tools used and a result.
Should I include my CGPA on my resume?
+
Yes if it is 7.0+ (or 70%+), and especially if the employer asks for a cut-off. If it is lower, leave it out and lead with projects and certifications instead.
Is a one-page resume enough for a fresher?
+
Yes. One page is the standard for freshers worldwide. Recruiters skim, and a focused page with strong projects beats two pages of filler.
